Tractor Trailer Technician- Class A
Performs routine maintenance and diagnostic tests to determine a course of action for malfunctioning components/systems on different types and makes of vehicles. Works with Shop Foreman or Fleet Manager, performing preventive maintenance or repair to tractors, trailers, light and medium duty trucks, automobiles, lawn or farm equipment, and fork lifts. Conforms to Hilldrup, UVL, state and DOT regulations. Correct vehicle deficiencies and keeps records of repairs. Technician must be able to use computerized equipment and scan documents.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience. Degree from an Automotive-Vocational school preferred.
Experience: Minimum of four years’ experience in overall repair of diesel and gas vehicles and various types of trailers. Training or practical experience on Navistar, Cummins, Detroit, Mercedes and CAT engines preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: ASE, state inspection, A/C certification preferred, but not required.
