Vice President, International Operations
Responsible for overall management and performance of Hilldrup International, including international forwarding and operations and customer service staff at our corporate office (Stafford, VA) and off-site locations (Fenton, MO).
Oversees the day-to-day operations and customer service teams for consistent performance and profitability. Assists with strategic planning and goal-setting and leads the international team in support of our goals by measuring and reporting progress and making process improvements and staffing changes as necessary.
Additional duties include formulating training and incentive plans, maintaining efficient team structure and performance through analytics and reporting on goals achievement. Responsible for maintaining profit margins according to established objectives, and developing and maintaining internal control systems and processes to ensure accountability and consistency. In addition, often required to develop strong relationships with outside partners, such as transportation service providers and service partners, as well as internal company relationships, including other department managers and Hilldrup management team.
Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, International Transportation or related field. Master’s Degree in International Studies or Business Administration or industry related education (FIDI Academy EiM/MiM/LiM) preferred but not required.
Experience: 6 or more years of specialized international transportation and logistics with at least two or more years in a leadership or management capacity. Ability to read and speak the English language, compose correspondence and develop a variety of business reports. Highly effective analytical, decision making and verbal communications skills; including the ability to investigate complex business problems, develop effective recommendations, negotiate and/or present solutions & resolve problems in a highly professional manner. Demonstrates performance history of meeting/exceeding business objectives.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Willing and able to travel extensively as required. Proven experience and knowledge of operations processes for moving household goods internationally and experience with managing high volume global clients. Ability to interact with overseas partners and sophisticated international clients. Language capability is not required, but a positive asset.
