Across our markets, Hilldrup has been Moved to Action! Inspired by our new community engagement program, Moved to Action, Team Hilldrup has taken our community service efforts to a new level to have the most impact in the markets we serve.

As the name indicates, the cornerstone of this program is action. Action leads to impact – and impact means we’re working toward achieving goals. Whether it’s improving children’s health, eradicating hunger, eliminating homelessness or addressing mental health issues, Hilldrup employees are moved to action.

Here is how our Atlanta, Raleigh and Charlotte teams gave their time and efforts to specifically support the pillars of our community engagement program, including health, housing and hunger, during the first quarter of the year!

Atlanta at The Pantry at Hamilton Mill

Hilldrup Atlanta gave back to The Pantry at Hamilton Mill, a non-profit organization whose mission is to alleviate food insecurity throughout the local community. Established in 2009, The Pantry began serving 25 families a month and has flourished ever since – helping over 2,500 families monthly today.

Our team included Chris Driggers, Brandi Hatch, May Kelley, Angel Gomez and Jose Ramos who sorted and bagged enough frozen protein – from cod and lamb to ribs and roasts – to feed 200 families. The Pantry typically prepares the food boxes on Wednesdays (when we arrived!), Thursdays and Fridays with distribution of the food boxes taking place on Saturday mornings. The Pantry not only serves families from the Gwinnet County community but families from any nearby communities that have a need.

Volunteering at The Pantry is a truly rewarding experience.  Knowing that our time and effort help provide nourishment to families in need, while supporting one of the largest food banks in North Georgia, makes it all worthwhile,” shared Brandi Hatch, Office Manager. “It’s humbling to see how a community can come together to make a tangible difference, and it’s an honor to be part of that impact.”

Charlotte at the 67th Annual Greater Charlotte Heart Ball

Hilldrup Charlotte, comprised of Sydney Cosby, Teresa Whitney, James Williams, Dina Alexander, Matt Appleton and Chris Scheier, was honored to support the 67th Annual Greater Charlotte Heart Ball in Charlotte, NC with a special focus on health.

We have been honored to work with the team at the American Heart Association for over 10 years. For this event, Hilldrup provided the labor and truck to pack, load and transport both auction and décor items for the Charlotte Heart Ball. We returned after the event to pack, load and transport any auction items not sold or picked up to a secure storage room for the American Heart Association.

It’s been an incredible partnership, and we were honored to be named the “Official Mover” of the Greater Charlotte Heart Ball!

Raleigh for The Raleigh Realtor Giving Network

Hilldrup Raleigh, represented by Jeff McCall, Michael Thompon, Greg Gerardino, Austin Rose and Rodney Ortiz, focused on promoting secure housing through the incredible work of The Raleigh Realtor Giving Network.

Inspired by the acronym HOME, The Raleigh Realtor Giving Network is inspired by Helping Our Neighbors; Organizing Realtor Giving; Maximizing Our Collective Impact; and Encouraging Engagement in the Community.

For their Moved to Action opportunity, our team assisted with unloading trucks with household items that needed to be placed in corresponding rooms of dedicated housing within the Kings Ridge community. Kings Ridge will be home to single adults and families who live with disabilities, histories of homelessness, and insufficient credit to qualify for conventional housing. We were also happy to provide unpacking and assembly services, as well as debris removal, all to set up housing for those who will be residing in Kings Ridge in 2025 and beyond.

Our team shared, “The feedback we received from those directly involved, as well as from others aware of our participation in the event, was overwhelming. It was truly a moment of awe, as everyone recognized the value this brings, not only to the community but also to those who volunteered their time to participate.”

This was an incredible start of the year for our Moved To Action program, and we thank all of our team members who dedicated their time and efforts to these life-giving programs. We look forward to sharing what our team accomplishes in Q2 in the near future!
