NASCAR Chicago Street Race Weekend

Hilldrup’s Workplace Solutions team ensured the delivery of hospital supplies from AdventHealth to be available during the 2023 NASCAR Chicago Street Race Weekend event.

Hilldrup Orlando at AdventHealth's Care Center

A race dedicated to passionate, professional drivers required the support of Hilldrup’s own dedicated Van Operators and service teams! Hilldrup’s Workplace Solutions team in Orlando, FL was readily available to load and deliver medical supplies required for potential emergency services during the 2023 NASCAR Chicago Street Race Weekend.

NASCAR Chicago Street Race

Based in Daytona Beach, FL, NASCAR endorses more than 1,200 races every year in over 30 states and 12 countries. Celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2023, NASCAR hosted the Chiago Street Race as the first-ever street race for the NASCAR Cup Series. The 2023 Cup Series took place over Fourth of July weekend, whereby competitors race past many of Chicago’s most famous landmarks, to the enjoyment of NASCAR fans who were in attendance from across the U.S. and around the world. Of course, between the risks that come with speed racing, coupled with the intense summer heat, medical support and first aid stations were a necessary part of this year’s event.

AdventHealth’s Mobile Hospital Trailer

Thanks to the generosity of AdventHealth, a 53-foot mobile hospital trailer and four first aid stations were set up alongside the NASCAR Chicago Street Race’s course route.

Hilldrup arranged the loading, delivery, unloading, re-loading and re-delivery from our Orlando facility, located close to NASCAR’s Daytona Beach Headquarters, to Chicago for the event and then back to NASCAR’s Daytona International Speedway, located in Daytona Beach.

Thanks to Hilldrup, the mobile hospital trailer, and the hospital supplies with which it was outfitted, were delivered for potential emergency services required for both the NASCAR drivers and thousands of fans in attendance.

Plan of Action

  • Hilldrup Orlando padded, prepped and loaded all of the medical items onto a designated straight truck at the infield care center of the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL on Monday, June 26.
  • This truck then drove direct to downtown Chicago where our partner crew from Planes met us on June 28th and unloaded everything into the mobile medical hospital trailer. The race took place on Sunday, July 2 in the early evening due to a weather delay.
  • Because of the weather delay, our colleagues from Planes quickly pivoted and had a team back out to the road course on Monday, July 3rd to load the remaining supplies and medical equipment back into the truck returning to Daytona.
  • With all parties able to adapt to the new timeline, Hilldrup Orlando met this road truck back at the Daytona International Speedway on Friday, July 7th and unloaded the items back into the infield care center.

We’re grateful to have worked in partnership with Planes Companies in Chicago and Logistics Plus for the required trucking needs in Illinois.

“It was logistical harmony to make every date and timeframe go off without a hitch,” described John (JC) Kibbe, Workplace Solutions Account Manager for Hilldrup. “Everyone involved knew the importance and high profile of this scope of work and we all delivered.”
