62nd Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball: Hilldrup Celebrates CHoR and NICU Expansion
Hilldrup’s was excited to support CHoR by being a sponsor and guest of their annual event!
Hilldrup was honored to attend and sponsor the 62nd Annual Children’s Hospital Foundation Ball on November 7 — a magical, nostalgia-filled evening supporting the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU (CHoR).
Inspired by the theme “Whirlz of Wonder,” The Country Club of Virginia was transformed into a whimsical carnival! Dazzling lights, nostalgic fair treats and classic rides – including a carousel – brought the night’s themes of joy and wonder to life.
Hilldrup has been working closely to support the needs of the Children’s Hospital of Richmond since late 2023 – from delivering care packages to patients to hosting lemonade stands – and we loved connecting with fellow sponsors and supporters of CHoR at this year’s event.
This year’s most meaningful highlight was the focus of the fundraising efforts: the expansion of Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Located in the critical care hospital to remain close to the labor and delivery unit, CHoR’s current NICU offers 32 private rooms and four double-patient rooms for multiples. It cares for more than 500 premature and critically ill newborns each year, with stays that can range from days to months. In 2024, the NICU was at full capacity for more than 300 days – underscoring the growing need for CHoR’s specialized services.
Construction is currently underway to expand the NICU by 20 additional beds, along with enhanced amenities and support space for families and care teams.
