Hilldrup’s highly anticipated event, our Best of the Best Awards, were recently held to recognize and celebrate those who shined brightest in 2022. This year’s awards dinner and presentation was held on February 7th at the 718 Venue in historic downtown Fredericksburg, VA. Together, we shared in the stories, goals and most of all – the people – who made our success possible in 2022.
The inspiration behind the Best of the Best Awards is Hilldrup’s Mission, Vision and Values, which guide our employees in their words and actions each day and is truly the cornerstone of Hilldrup.
The awards night began with highlighting Hilldrup’s All Sales Award Winners, including our Residential and Workplace Solutions professionals. Congratulations to our Sales winners, below, for your outstanding work in 2022!

Afterward, we recognized the following winners in the categories of Branch of the Year, Van Operator of the Year, the Charles G. McDaniel Award of Excellence Recipient, and our six Value of the Year Winners!
Branch of the Year
Congratulations to the entire Atlanta, GA branch led by Vice President and General Manager, Ed Haeussler! The Branch of the Year award encompasses a wide range of key metrics that include revenue, quality, safety, claims and overall profitability to determine which of Hilldrup’s branches was most successful overall. From our office and sales professionals to our Operations teams who serve the Atlanta metropolitan area and beyond, well done!
Van Operator of the Year
Consistently recognized for his outstanding work by the industry, Eric Galioto a Hilldrup and Mayflower Transit Van Operator, is our 2022 Van Operator the Year! During the award period for Van Operator of the Year for Hilldrup, Eric maintained nearly perfect stats. These include a 95% customer service rating; a 99.5% for electronic updating via Stride; for safety, Eric drove 67,425 miles without a single infraction; his claims ratio is less than half a point and lastly, Eric generated $527,000 in linehaul revenue. An incredible feat! Eric’s story of success in how he became a Van Operator, and an award winning one at that, will be shared in more detail soon! We look forward to celebrating Eric throughout the year to honor his commitment and success.
The Charles G. McDaniel Award of Excellence Recipient
Hilldrup retiree Harold Wood, who recently celebrated 42 years of service to our organization, most recently as Senior VP, Risk Management and Safety, is the 2022 recipient of the Charles G. McDaniel Award of Excellence. This honor is one that is not given every year and its prestige is reserved for those who fulfill the following criteria: being the very best at what they do; having high accountability and trustworthiness; giving back to their community; living by example; and finally, constantly pursuing Hilldrup’s Vision to be the best moving services company, period. Thank you for an impressive career and your unwavering commitment to our company and legacy, Harold!
