While there is still plenty of uncertainty surrounding what the academic year will look like for schools as Fall 2020 approaches, there’s no doubt that students still need the basics – from notebooks to pencils –to succeed. To assist in the effort of providing school supplies to students in need, Stafford County Public Schools (SCPS) is currently accepting donations for their annual Collect For Kids: Back-to-School Supply Drive.

The Collect For Kids: Back-To-School Drive allows businesses and community organizations throughout Stafford County to collect school supply donations which will directly benefit local elementary, middle and high school students.

Hilldrup is proud to be an official business partner of SCPS and this is just one of the ways we give back to our local community. Due to COVID, we were unable to have a supply drive within our office like in years past. Instead, Hilldrup is donating a $1,000 gift card to go towards the purchase of supplies and providing 20 dishpack boxes that will be used at collection sites across Stafford County.

The event will conclude with a distribution event on August 4, 2020 at North Star Early Childhood Education Center.

Financial donations, school supplies and volunteers are all in need to ensure the supply drives’ success! If interested, here’s how you can help:

  • Visit the SCPS Collect For Kids website to view the requested items
  • Drop off donations at the Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex Professional Development Center located at 31 Stafford Avenue; Stafford, VA 22554
  • Mail donations to the attention of Emily Byers, Community Engagement Coordinator and address to the Alvin York Bandy Administrative Complex Professional Development Center, 31 Stafford Avenue; Stafford, VA 22554
  • Order directly from SCPS’ Amazon Wish List where all items will automatically ship to the Alvin Y. Bandy Administrative Complex

All donations and supplies for Collect For Kids must be received by July 27, 2020; however, additional supply donations are gladly accepted throughout the year. We hope you’ll join us in donating supplies to these students who are ready to take on the school year!

Last year, Hilldrup served as a donation site for Stafford County Public School’s Collect For Kids: Back-to-School Supply Drive (pictured above). While we’re unable to conduct a drive within our offices this year due to COVID, Hilldrup donated a $1,000 gift card and 20 dishpack boxes (like the one pictured here) to be used at donation sites across Stafford County.
