Our students have such artistic gifts! We are always super excited about the possibilities of new student artwork and new student voices in our art shows.”

Annamarie Bollino, SCPS Fine & Performing Arts Facilitator

This spring, after over two years of remote work, Hilldrup’s Corporate Headquarters was in need of some sprucing up! And what better way to bring some creativity and inspiration to our office than to update our artwork with those of Stafford County Public School (SCPS) student artists!

In 2019, shortly after our Corporate Headquarters in Stafford was remodeled, Hilldrup displayed the artwork of SCPS students as selected by a group of art teachers in collaboration with Annamarie Bollino, SCPS Fine & Performing Arts Facilitator. The student artists of these drawings, collages, paintings and more were celebrated during an open house event that invited these artists and their families to see the artwork on display. Now in 2022, it was finally time for the work to be returned to its artist and for a new selection of work to be selected for display!

“Art is essential to many of our students, and during the pandemic, not only was it a way to be creative, but also a way to express feelings and process our experiences,” shared Annamarie. “There are countless studies that demonstrate the physical and mental benefits of making art. I think most importantly, art is a way to bring people together – to celebrate, to create community, to share and connect.”

Annamarie and her team visited to place each piece of art in a frame along with a label of the artist’s name, grade and art teacher. Giving these talented students credit for their work and creativity was important! We were excited to welcome back Hilldrup’s corporate employees to the office in May and have all the new artwork on display in the space.

Thank you to each of the talented student artists for allowing us to showcase your work to the employees and visitors who frequent our office daily! Special thank you to Annamarie and all the art teachers across SCPS who helped make this all possible.
