Marketing & Client Services Volunteer at Fredericksburg Food Bank

Our Marketing and Client Services teams enjoyed the opportunity to volunteer at the Fredericksburg Food Bank.

Giving back to the communities where we live and work, whether through financial donations or via volunteer hours, is an important part of what it means to be Team Hilldrup. One local organization that we’ve been pleased to support is the Fredericksburg Food Bank and their mission to uniting the Central Rappahannock River Region in fighting hunger. Recently, our Marketing and Client Services teams gladly volunteered as a group to help pack food donations to those in need.

The Fredericksburg Food Bank, a member of Feeding America, has helped more than 34,000 people receive food assistance through their network of community partners. We’re inspired by their work’s outreach and wanted to support by giving a hand!

From our Stafford Headquarters, volunteers included Elena Medeiros, Client Services Analyst; Hunter Watson, Client Services Consultant; Bucky Burden, Sr. Manager, Client Services; Bridget Dern, Sr. Corporate Communications Specialist; Robert Riebe, Sr. Creative and Brand Manager; Jordan McDaniel Hinkebein, Marketing Director; and Onie Girton, Senior VP, Sales and Client Services.

Together, joining other community volunteers, we assisted in making boxes, packing them with assigned food items and stacking them on pallets for further distribution. Supplementing the dietary needs of those across our community is a critical need, especially for those who may struggle to access grocery stores due to a physical disability. In under two hours, and thanks to an incredible team effort, over 528 boxes were packed for The Emergency Assistance Food Program (TEFAP).

Special thank you to the amazing team at The Fredericksburg Food Bank, especially Dominique Thomas, Volunteer Coordinator, for making this and so many other opportunities to support our friends and neighbors in need possible. We’re thankful for the opportunity to do our part in the fight against hunger, and we look forward to volunteering with the Fredericksburg Food Bank again!

Hunter Watson, Client Services Consultant; Bucky Burden, Sr. Manager, Client Services; and Onie Girton, Senior VP, Sales and Client Services assisted with the final stage of preparing the boxes of food donations, so they were secure and organized on pallets.
