Tim Licata presents during the ATA MSC Annual Conference.

Hilldrup was thrilled to have four leaders from our organization represented at the ATA Moving and Storage Conference’s (MSC) Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL. Dalton Anderson, Quality Manager; Tim Licata, Director, Operations – Stafford; Justin Moyer, Senior Director, Risk Management and Safety; and Rodney Ortiz, Sr. Director, Operations – Dulles & Forestville attended to network and learn more about the latest updates in our industry.  In addition, Dalton, Tim and Rodney are three of the latest graduates of the MSC’s 2022 – 2023 Leaders Program.

The MSC’s Annual Meeting, held Feb 27 – Mar 2, invites industry leaders to learn about new trends impacting the relocation industry, network together and celebrate achievements with fellow colleagues. MSC is the leading national organization representing the household goods industry. Specifically, they set household goods government affairs policy positions on Capitol Hill, promote unity throughout the industry and offer a forum for intra-industry debate and collaboration. The same Hilldrup team who attended this year’s annual meeting also represented Hilldrup, and the interests of agents like us, during the Call on Washington event in late 2022.

The ATA MSC’s Leaders Program prepares participants to grow as a leader both within their organization as well as in the industry. The program, which runs September through March, explores real-world and applicable topics on a range of leadership issues hosted by guest speakers.

As part of the program, Dalton, Tim and Rodney each gave a presentation on a major topic that faces our industry, namely:

  • The rise and pressure of inflation’s impact on the moving and transportation industry
  • Educating and protecting the PII (Personal Identifiable Information) of our customers
  • How a strategic investment in technology can help Logistical and Operational efficiency

“I had the pleasure of doing my presentation on inflation,” shared Dalton. “We had to give two separate presentations – one with the target audience of the U.S. government and the other targeting industry executives.”

“My presentation was on customer expectations – how they are shifting and is there a need for strategic repositioning, as well as opportunities for government policy to evolve and meet these changes,” explained Tim. “The main focus was on the shift to everything being done online and how to educate our potential customers on rogue movers, protect their PII, and what the government can do to assist with legislation in those areas.”

Finally, Rodney presented on the benefits that the implementation of electronic devices has had for daily operations as well as a reduction in claims, faster billing and a reduction in carbon emissions.

“It’s been a fun experience thus far,” shared Rodney on the opportunities that the Leaders Program has offered.

Congratulations to all three of these leaders on their successful completion of the Leadership Program! Dalton, Rodney and Tim have a major impact on the success of Hilldrup’s operations and customer experience across our footprint, and we look forward to supporting and celebrating their continued success. Job well done, all!
