They need specific technician services like an electrician, plumber or carpenter to unload and reinstall your belongings as not to ruin them or void their warranty.

Below we’ve compiled a list of items that might require this special level of care.

Appliances

Appliances like washers, dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators, and gas stoves need to be disconnected from water or gas lines and flushed to ensure there is no seepage during a move. A certified technician must properly reconnect them at your new home. This is especially important if servicing front-load and high-efficiency washers since special tools are needed to secure the washer drum that must be properly removed before using again.

Grandfather/Wall Clocks

Clocks that have pendulums and weights are more sensitive and have a lot of fragile moving parts. In order to keep them safe and unharmed, these items must be removed. A clock technician should secure any moving parts before the clock is packed and moved.

Select Comfort Beds/Sleep Number Beds

Select comfort air mattresses have delicate fittings that need to be removed, packaged and reconnected after your move. This meticulous procedure should be done by a professional technician so there is no damage to the air mattress bladder and fittings.

Furniture Services

If a large piece of furniture was assembled in your home, a technician may be required to take it apart and reassemble it in your new home, especially if there are several small and intricate pieces. A specially trained technician is required for hoisting services if doors or railings must be removed to properly move the furniture.

Crating

To ensure safe transportation, fragile items that are too large to be packed in standard moving boxes might require crating. This often applies to belongings such as wall mirrors, artwork, glass shelves and ornate or delicate furniture. Marble pieces bigger than 12 inches must be crated.
