My name is Rusty Adams, and I am a Van Operator for Hilldrup.

Growing up as a small-town country boy from Ohio, I was taught loyalty at a young age. This core value grew stronger after I joined the Marine Corps as a third-generation Marine. Today I feel right at home at Hilldrup, as loyalty is the principle that guides how we treat employees and customers.

I’m currently serving in my 34^th year with the company. I’ve worked my way from the ground up, starting as a truck driver to today being called on regularly to carry out VIP moves. Military moves in particular hold a special place in my heart as a Marine. When a serviceman has passed, the final move is understandably hard on the family. I deeply value the opportunity to help these families in any way I can.

I like to say I’m the guy who gets the job done from start to finish. My team and I pack things up, I conduct inventory, we get it moved and unloaded, all while communicating closely with our customer and ensuring we deliver top-notch customer service. It’s more than just getting the job done. If a customer isn’t happy, I do everything I can to make things right because I always have their best interest at heart. I take pride in knowing I made a positive difference in their lives.

The appreciation I have for the McDaniel family is a big reason I am so devoted to my work. They are great leaders because they’ve taken time to learn every aspect of the business and show respect to all employees no matter their role. When respect and loyalty are major parts of a company’s foundation, that radiates out. It inspires me to always do my best so I can keep my customers moving.
